Disaster Relief Initiative

During the months of August and September 2020, our community experienced unprecedented loss and hardship due to wildfires.  Thanks to several generous donations from our community and a matching grant from the Community Foundation Santa Cruz County's Fire Response Fund, the Santa Cruz Education Foundation raised more than $10,000 and was able to provide financial assistance to 33 families who lost their homes in the CZU Lighting Complex fires or were evacuated and struggling to pay for alternative accommodations or purchase food and clothing.
